I think I figured out why my writing has gotten so stale.

It was in the book I got by Stephen King, when he was talking about how long (on average) it takes for him to finish a book. He says it takes three months - which I believe, cos even though he's half baked most of the time he's still a fucking genius. Apparently he doesn't even remember writing Cujo...

Anyway, that's off topic.

Now, the reason - he says - that it takes such a short time to finish a first draft is that he focuses on his work and writes 2000 words a day, every day. Now, I'm not that psychotic, but I see his point. The longer you spend with characters you're working on, the more they seem like cardboard cutouts that don't live up to your expectations.

I have set a date. This is a historical event people! All 3 of you who read this blog: PAY VERY CLOSE ATTENTION!

I will have a first draft finished by Christmas, I have decided. That will force me to work and get this bastard finished. That is my goal. End of story. Good night.
